I really like to communicate by voice messages. It is faster than writing and less demanding than a phone call. Besides, you can listen to the voice of the person you are conversing with, and you can keep some messages for future reference.
Yesterday, I was talking to my mother via voice messaging. A few minutes after we ended our conversation I received a new 28 seconds message from her. I opened it and it was “empty”. She most probably hit the record button without noticing and send it to me by mistake.

Laure’s empty message

I’ve been listening to this message again and again since yesterday. It is paradoxically one of the most touching message I’ve ever got from her. Each time I listen to it, I am transported into her room in Beirut and it makes me feel terribly alone, but in her solitude.
